"Dear Charlie,
I just wanted to thank you again for doing such an amazing job selling our house. Simply put, we could not have asked for more from a broker who was representing us. We had our house on the market for some time with two other brokers and nothing happened due to their lack of initiative.
When I first met you, I was completely impressed with your professionalism, pleasant attitude and your easy style. At first I thought you were just in selling mode, but after working with you for more than a year, I realized the you were completely genuine and always looking out for our best interest. This is indeed very rare with real estate brokers.
I have bought and sold a great number of residential properties in the past 40 years, and I can honestly say you were by far the best broker ever! There was never a request to do something that you complained about, and I know I had plenty of them. You helped us get the house ready to show by connecting us with a "stager", you helped with painting, cleaning, all the other necessary but endless details that continued to come up and yes, you even took our trash to the dump to make sure the place looked good for showings. You were always there to solve every house problem - even if it had nothing to do with your job of selling the house. This was extremely important to us since we live 2 hours away and without your help, this would have been much more difficult. And to make it even better, you did it all with good cheer and never once complained about anything.
We were trying to sell our house in one of the worst real estate markets in history, and I was impressed that you never got discouraged and never even thought of giving up. Your willingness to stick with this project, even in the face of no buyers in sight, was also a testimony to your commitment to get the job done.
I was also impressed with the open houses and all the work you did to prepare the house and meet the brokers and clients. The number of ads in local papers, brochures, flyers and online were also impressive, not to mention the wonderful creative direct mail campaign. You obviously were doing all you could to sell the house aggressively, rather than just sitting on the listing and waiting for something to happen. This to me makes all the difference between success and failure, and we could not have asked for more.
Finally, you handled the sale and closing details perfectly and there were no problems whatsoever. We also appreciated your help with the plot plans, septic, pest control, dock, and dozens of other issues that always seem to come up when one sells a house. I don't know how we would have done all this without you.
I would certainly recommend you to anyone looking to buy or sell a home and you can feel free to use me as a reference. I would tell prospective clients that if they could get Charlie Forbes to work with them they would be very very lucky. You are indeed unique and a very special person, and I am glad that you are now also a good friend.
